These works come from a collection of over a dozen paintings I made of Monmouth Battlefield State Park, a place that always inspires me. Craig House was built in 1746 and served as a British hospital during the Battle of Monmouth. It sits in a corner of the state park like a portal to the ages. The fields around seem to echo with the Battle as well as the hundreds of years gone by. The works are deliberately ambiguous as to their moment in time.
